Just Post It!
Unposed: The Real Reel by Shaun P! of #ThePictopia
Can I be real for a moment?
I almost didn’t post this. Not because I didn’t write it. Not because I didn’t feel it. But because I let perfection try to talk me out of purpose.
See, when you run a business, especially one as vulnerable and visible as Pictopia, you start second-guessing everything. Is this good enough? Did I say it right? Will they understand it? Will they like it?
And then God will tap you on the shoulder and whisper, “You’re not posting for approval. You’re posting for impact.”
Whew. I Felt That In My ShaunNaNa!
The Pictopia Pivot
When we started Pictopia, it was cute backdrops, dope props, and selfie vibes. It was all about the look. But over time, I started seeing something deeper. People were coming in to pose, but they were leaving with pieces of themselves they forgot they had. Confidence. Joy. Hope. Healing.
And I realized, this isn’t just content. This is calling.
That’s when we pivoted. Pictopia became more than a photo studio. It became a space for creatives, dreamers, believers, and survivors. A venue for healing. A canvas for purpose.
But with that pivot came the pressure. Suddenly, every post felt like it had to be perfect. Every caption had to be deep. Every picture had to “go viral.” And some days, I let the fear of not being enough keep me from posting at all.
Then God Checked Me
You ever have God get you together real quick? That moment where you're sitting there scrolling, saving drafts, editing captions, and He’s like…
“How can I bless what you won’t release?”
That part!!!!
See, posting isn’t about attention. It’s about obedience. And delayed obedience is still disobedience. You don’t need the perfect post. You need a willing one.
It’s Not for Them. It’s for Them.
There are two “thems” in your life. The first “them” will criticize you for posting too much, saying too much, doing too much. Let them talk. Because the second “them,” the one God assigned to your voice, your gift, your story... is scrolling. They’re watching. They’re waiting. And your “Just Post It” might be their “Just What I Needed.”
Scripture Says…
“Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again.” — Ecclesiastes 11:1
Translation? Put it out there. You never know what seed you’re sowing or what harvest is attached to your obedience.
So Here’s What I’m Doing…
I’m making myself Just Post It. Whether it’s a blog, a quote, a picture, a behind-the-scenes reel, a raw moment, a word of encouragement... I’m posting! Because somebody needs what I’m tempted to hide. Because healing doesn’t happen in hiding. And because what I carry is bigger than how I feel.
So if you’re stuck in your head…If you’ve got 37 drafts and not one post…If you’ve talked yourself out of showing up again…
This is your sign.
Just. Post. It.
Even if it’s not perfect. Even if it only gets 12 views and 2 likes. Even if your voice shakes when you hit “share.”
Your next blessing might be waiting on your next post.
The Real Reel? The enemy isn’t after your platform. He’s after your courage to keep using it.
Let’s take it back.
